Enrolling Clinical Research Studies
Why do we need clinical trials?
Without clinical trials, all of the medications and treatments that we have today would not exist. In order to develop new treatments that are both safe and effective, testing must be done. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that all new medicines, devices and other therapies be vigorously tested to ensure that they are both effective and generally safe for use by the public.
Lucida Clinical Trials conducts Phase II to Phase IV clinical trials in our fully equipped facility. Lucida is dedicated to the successful conduct of all clinical trials and accelerating timelines for patients to receive safe and effective treatments.
Active Studies
CROHN’S DISEASE STUDIES
Lucida Clinical Trials is currently participating in several Crohn's Disease studies. If you are interested in taking part in a Crohn's Disease study, please submit an application and a staff member will contact you to determine your eligibility.
CYAB STUDY: Neuropathy
The CYAB study will evaluate how well an investigational medicine works compared to placebo to help improve nerve pain in people with nerve pain that started in the feet and is associated with distal sensory polyneuropathy.
You may be able to take part in this study if you:
Are 18 years of age or over
Have nerve pain for at least 6 months that started in your feet
Are currently experiencing moderate nerve pain in your feet or legs
Cannot become pregnant
WEIGHT LOSS STUDIES
The main purpose of these studies is to investigate weight management efficacy and safety of a study drug compared with a placebo in adult participants who are obese or overweight. Lucida Clinical Trials is currently participating in several different weight loss studies. If you are interested in taking part in a weight loss study, please submit an application and a staff member will contact you to determine your eligibility.
BAXDUO STUDY: Chronic Kidney Disease and High Blood Pressure
The BaxDuo study is being conducted to find out whether an experimental treatment called baxdrostat and a CKD treatment already approved in many countries, called dapagliflozin, together may work better than dapagliflozin on its own in people with CKD and high blood pressure.
You may be able to take part in this study if you:
Have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and high blood pressure, and are taking an ACE inhibitor or ARB for your high blood pressure.
ABTECT-1 STUDY: Ulcerative Colitis
The ABTECT-1 Study is being done to learn more about an investigational medication and its effect in people with ulcerative colitis. The study aims to see if 2 different doses of the investigational medication work in controlling symptoms and how safe the investigational medication is.
You may be able to take part in this study if you:
Are 18 years of age or over
Have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis
Have experienced inadequate, no response, or loss of response while on other or previous ulcerative colitis medication
NIMBLE STUDY: Eosinophilic Asthma
There is a need for a long-acting medication that can be administered less often to simplify patients’ asthma care. The NIMBLE Study is looking at a possible new medicine for people with eosinophilic asthma (a type of sever asthma). The study will look at how safe the study drug is and whether it works for adults and adolescents with eosinophilic asthma.
You may be able to take part in this study if you:
Are 12 years of age or over
Have severe asthma that has been controlled with mepolizumab or benralizumab for at least 12 months
RED-C 3131 STUDY: Hepatic Encephalopathy and Liver Cirrhosis
The Red-C 3131 Study is active but no longer accepting participant applications.
The Red-C 3131 Study is testing a medicine to see whether it could safely delay or prevent hepatic encephalopathy in adults who have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis.
You may be able to take part in this study if you:
Are between the ages of 18 and 85
Have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis
Have not been diagnosed with overt HE (a severe form of HE)
Do not experience any cognitive issues due to HE or any other illness
Do not have an active COVID-19 infection

Upcoming Studies for Men and Women
Add your name to the waiting list for upcoming studies. We will contact you when we begin a new study.
Completed Studies
FIGHTN-CKD STUDY: High Blood Pressure and Chronic Kidney Disease
The fightn-CKD Study is testing an investigational drug to see whether it could help people with high blood pressure (hypertension) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
CONCLUDE STUDY: Ulcerative Colitis
The aim of the CONCLUDE Study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in people with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
MAC PD STUDY: Mycobacterium avium Complex (MAC) Pulmonary Disease (PD)
The MAC PD study is researching a study drug to find out how well it works for adults with Mycobacterium avium Complex (MAC) pulmonary disease (PD).
